Vans recently released the “Peace Pack,” which is features a Sk8 Hi, Slip On, and a Old Skool. This pack may remind you of their “Hippie Pack” from last year. But the “Peace Pack” is all about the peace sign logo.

History

 1908–1941: Early days and Chuck Taylor

In his late 30s, Marquis Mill Converse, who was previously a respected manager at a footwear manufacturing firm, opened the Converse Rubber Shoe Company (completely unrelated to the Boston Rubber Shoe Company founded by fourth cousin Elisha Converse) in Malden, Massachusetts in 1908. The company was a rubber shoe manufacturer, providing winterized rubber soled footwear for men, women, and children. By 1910, Converse was producing 4,000 shoes daily, but it was not until 1915 that the company began manufacturing athletic shoes for tennis. The company's main turning point came in 1917 when the Converse All-Star basketball shoe was introduced. Then in 1921, a basketball player named Charles H. "Chuck" Taylor walked into Converse complaining of sore feet. Converse gave him a job. He worked as a salesman and ambassador, promoting the shoes around the United States, and in 1923 his signature was added to the All Star patch. He tirelessly continued this work until shortly before his death in 1969. Converse also customized shoes for the New York Renaissance (the "Rens"), the first all-African American professional basketball team.

.....Sinasabi ng kasaysayan na ang yema ay unang ginawa nung Panahon ng Kastila. Noon, nagpagawa ang mga sinaunang paring Kastila ng mga simbahan upang ipakalat ang Katolisismo. Isa sa mga ginagamit nilang materyales ang puting parte ng itlog bilang semento o pundasyon ng mga ito. Dahil dito, nasasayang lang ang mga yolk o yung dilaw na parte ng itlog. Kaya nakaisip ng paraan ang mga tao upang mapakinabangan ang mga itinatapong pula ng itlog at dito na nabuo ang idea ng paggawa ng yema. Ito ay isang matamis na kakanin na binubuo ng gatas, asukal at pula ng itlog. Upang mas maintindihan ang proseso ng paggawa nito, narito ang simpleng paraan ng paggawa ng yema ayon sa agriculture.ph:

Paggawa ng Yema

Eto ang simpleng paraan ng paggawa ng matamis at masarap na yema

 

Mga Sangkap:
2 Malaking lata ng condensed milk
2 Pula ng itlog (egg yolks) optional
1 Kutsara ng Butter o margarina
Paraan ng Paggawa:
1. Ilagay sa kawali ang condensed milk.
2. Isalang sa mahinang apoy.
3. Isunod ang egg yolk at butter o margarina.
4. Haluin ng tuluy-tuloy hanggang maging medyo matigas na ang condensed milk. Palamigin.
5. Ibalot sa cellophane na parang pyramid ang hugis. Maari na itong ipake para ibenta.

 ..hindi lang yan...sinubukan ko rin ang PASTILLAS

 PASTILLAS DE LECHE



Ingredients:

• 2 cups powdered milk
• 1 can condensed milk (300 ml)
• white sugar for rolling

Procedure:

1. Gradually sift powdered milk in condensed milk.
2. Mix and blend evenly, using spoon, then, knead with hand.
3. Set aside for 5-10 minutes before shaping into small balls.
4. Roll on sugar. Wrap in cellophane.

VARIATIONS:
Pastillas de Nangka:
# Add to basic recipe ½ cup fresh, finely chopped nangka.
Mocca Pastillas:
# Dissolve 1 tbsp. Instant coffee and 2 tbsp. Unsweetened cocoa, in ¼ cup boiling water. To the basic recipe, increase powdered milk by ¼ cup.
Pinipig Pastillas:
# Using the basic recipe, roll the pastilles balls on toasted pinipig (coat well), pressing a little to the ball. Then, roll on sugar.
